My friends decided to get married on beautiful Deer Lake in Northern Ontario, so that meant it was time for a road trip and some cottage life! Deer Lake is in between Sudbury and North Bay, which is about a seven hour drive from where I live. Since it was late September, there was some stunning Fall scenery along the way to keep me busy snapping pics. The red, yellow, orange, green and purple trees, jagged rock, and roadside lakes, rivers and streams made for an incredibly scenic drive. Oh, and I literally do mean they were married on a lake. The ceremony took place on six docks that were tied together. It was so beautiful and unique.
The whole weekend was sunny and warm. Although it cooled down quite a bit at night, during the day we were able to work on our tans/sunburns. A group of seven of us stayed in two cabins across the lake, which were right on the water with sweeping panoramic views. The lake was covered with dense fog in the morning, which made for some light and reflective photos. It was so rejuvenating to wake up to crisp fresh air and watch the lake slowly appear as the fog cleared.
Below are some photos from the weekend. Deer Lake really is a unique and scenic spot for an Ontario destination wedding, and a relaxing getaway!
